Editorial policy
ClaimPrep publishes guides and regional news on documenting property damage: what to record, when to record it, and how the evidence fits together into a report. Our resources support documentation; they do not replace advice from a qualified professional about an individual claim or legal matter.
Published by ClaimPrep
ClaimPrep is the public author and publisher of every resource. Editorial contributions, review identities and supporting evidence are maintained in our internal records. A location mentioned in an article describes its subject or applicability; it does not establish a ClaimPrep office or service area.
Sources and applicability
Articles identify their sources and explain the relevant jurisdiction, scope and known limitations. We prefer primary sources such as the responsible public agency or the original announcement. Where relevant and known, source records distinguish publication dates, effective dates and the date we accessed the material. We do not invent missing dates or imply first-hand reporting when summarizing an announcement.
Review before publication
Publication requires review of the specific article revision by an independent reviewer. The article creator and revision editor cannot approve their own work. Review considers whether sources support the claims, whether regional applicability is clear, and whether examples or practical materials help the reader complete a documentation task.
Updates and corrections
Editing a published article creates a separate working revision. The live article changes only after the new revision completes review and publication. We preserve the original publication date and distinguish it from updates, verification dates and the time of a news event. Material corrections include a visible correction or update note.
Our corrections policy explains how to report a problem and how material changes are shown. Read about ClaimPrep for the publisher and service scope.
